Background
Tri Ambition Coaching is based in Derbyshire and offers bespoke triathlon and multisport coaching. Our athletes share our passion for triathlon and athletic development and range from complete novices to Age Group medal winners, and first time Ironmen to Kona qualifiers. We specialise in working very closely with our athletes to jointly design efficient and achievable training solutions when time is limited (e.g. due to family life and work commitments). Coaching is highly individualised and tailored to your lifestyle, previous experience, current fitness and sporting goals. We aim to give you the most bang for your buck with your training time!
I am a doctor specialising in Emergency Medicine. Alongside this, sport has always been my passion. After many years of marathon running and competing in team sports (hockey, badminton, netball), I branched out to multisport racing and coaching and have never looked back. I have been competing in GB Age Group racing for over a decade and have continually sought knowledge and experience to optimise athletic improvement, health and performance.
As a triathlon coach, I want to share my experience, knowledge and passion for sport and medicine with you. I want to help you unlock your true athletic potential by optimising all elements of health, fitness and performance in the context of your lifestyle. If you have a triathlon dream, share it with us and dare to be ambitious!

Background
I have been a keen sportsman all my life, first running as a junior then 10 years of competitive cycling (mountain biking, track and time trialling), including a few years as a sponsored rider with a 1st Category Road Racing Licence. I then got into race organising and for a while was both Chairman and Racing Secretary of British Cycling’s Midland Division.
I did my first sprint novice triathlon in 1997 but didn’t get the bug properly until 2002 and have been involved in the sport ever since. I have finished 7 full and almost 20 half IM distance events, including the 70.3 World Championships twice. I took to GB Age Group racing in 2005 and have continually aimed to improve my performance.
My racing experience has taught me many things: 1) you have to be ambitious and committed to succeed (there are no short cuts, it’s hard work!); 2) it is never too late to get better (my fastest times came when I had passed 40); 3) how time efficient you can be in your training (but, with hindsight, how inefficient I used to be - but then I didn’t know much about coaching!). So now, I aim to bring my experience to coaching and motivating others, to enable athletes to realise what really is possible, then plan the route to achieving their personal ambition.
